Why Ferries?

Here at Ferry Crossings we have spent plenty of time enjoying (and researching) a wide selection of countries, but in particular enjoy those countries within easy reach of the UK – Ireland, France, Belgium, Holland, Spain, Germany and Denmark. In other words, those countries that can be visited by ferry from the UK.

One aspect of travel that we have always enjoyed is car and ferry travel. We love the freedom that taking your own car on holiday gives. But of course, living in the UK means that to travel to mainland Europe by car, it’s necessary to take the ferry or Channel Tunnel. Ferry travel can be one of the most enjoyable forms of rtravel, but often finding the right route at the right price can be confusing. That’s why we decided to develop our Ferry Crossings website. Our aims were twofold:

Ferry Info – Loud and Clear

Firstly we wanted to offer clear and concise information about ferry crossings from the UK. There are 8 different countries you can take the ferry to from the UK – France, Belgium, Holland, Denmark, Channel Islands, Ireland, Spain and the Isle of Man – plus of course ferries between the UK mainland and Northern Ireland and the Isle of Wight. Sometimes it can be quite a task in finding the right ferry crossing. There can be so many questions – what price, which port, journey and crossing times, which ferry company…and that’s why we wanted to bring all the information together in one site, and offer it in a concise and easy to understand manner, in order to help you find the right ferry for your trip.

Find the best deals

Secondly, we aim to help you find the best deals and cheapest prices when it comes to booking ferry tickets. Ferry Crossings is regularly in contact with all the major ferry operators, making sure we know about any special offers or cheap deals as soon as they are available. But we also check with the ferry operators on other ways of finding cheaper tickets, such as when they offer “off peak” fares, for example. We have also partnered with some of the UK’s largest travel companies who specialise in ferry travel, so that we can compare the various ferry routes and prices together, not only to find the cheapest fare, but also the best route for your journey. We hiope that by the time you have finished using our site, you will understand exactly how to find all the right deals and cheapest prices on ferry travel for your journey.
